Genesis 48
And Israel said to Joseph, “I had not thought to see your face; but in fact, God has also shown me your offspring!” Genesis 48:11 NKJV
Jacob never thought he would see Joseph again, but God specializes in doing things that we think are impossible. We should always have hope and never despair, because God is with us, and He can change our situation around. What problem are you facing today that seems impossible? If you need some encouragement that God can fix your situation, look at the faith of Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego in Daniel 3:17-18. When their lives were threatened by the king, they said: “If we are thrown into the blazing furnace, the God whom we serve is able to save us. He will rescue us from your power, Your Majesty. But even if He doesn’t, we want to make it clear to you, Your Majesty, that we will never serve your gods or worship the gold statue you have set up.” We should follow their example and know that God is able to save us or help us with any problem. We should have absolute faith that He will rescue us from the trouble we are facing. However, we should not always expect Him to rescue us immediately when we face trouble in our lives. Often there are important lessons to be learned from facing consequences for our actions, or persevering through a particularly difficult time in our lives.
Regardless of the outcome, we need to hold fast to our faith in God, for there is no one else with whom we can place our hope.
