Genesis 40

Yet the chief butler did not remember Joseph, but forgot him. ‭‭Genesis‬ ‭40:23‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

When Pharaoh’s cup-bearer was freed from prison, he forgot about Joseph, even though he had Joseph to thank for his freedom.  Joseph had to wait another two years before he would be freed.  When we feel overlooked or underappreciated, we shouldn’t be surprised that people are often ungrateful.  People will undoubtedly let us down from time to time, but there is One who will never let us down.  In tough situations, trust God as Joseph did, and remember Psalms 118:8: “It is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in people.”
