Genesis 28
“Behold, I am with you and will keep you wherever you go, and will bring you back to this land; for I will not leave you until I have done what I have spoken to you.” Then Jacob awoke from his sleep and said, “Surely the Lord is in this place, and I did not know it.” Genesis 28:15-16 NKJV
God promises to be with Jacob wherever he goes. He promises the same thing for us today. There are many verses in the Bible that confirm this fact. God says “I will not leave you nor forsake you” (Joshua 1:5). The psalmist says “Those who know Your name trust in You, for You, O Lord, do not abandon those who search for You” (Psalms 9:10). When we are doubting that God is there, we should ponder what Jacob said: “Surely the Lord is in this place and I did not know it.” We can’t always know where or how God is going to work in our lives, but we know that He is always there and is always working for us and with us.
