About God’s Word of Truth
Meet those who are behind this site, and learn their values and beliefs that have led them to bring God’s word to you.
This website is the culmination of a dream that God placed on my heart, that began in 2010. That is the year I became a Christian and started to develop my relationship with Jesus Christ. I was prompted to collect Bible verses, devotionals and quotes and organize them by topic. At the time I had no idea why I was doing it. Then, from 2013 until 2018 my wife and I led an email Bible study where we studied and commented on Bible passages as we read through the entire Bible with friends and family. The content in the Bible Study Verse by Verse section is a result of that Bible study. As the father of 5 children and a teacher at our local church in our kids’ church, I have always loved teaching. This website is my contribution, as a resource to help you grow your relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ, and become more like Him in the process. I am praying for everyone who comes to this website, that Holy Spirit will help you encounter God’s Word in a meaningful way, and that you will be changed! – Kevin Mallery, Founder
God has always been a significant part of my life. As an adult, my faith has only continued to grow and strengthen as I share in worship with my husband and our families. When Kevin approached me asking for my assistance with this project, I knew it was a calling from God. I never aspired to be a web designer but over time my experience and skills led me to be one. I believe God has a purpose for all of us, and I now believe He gave me these skills for exactly this purpose, to help spread His word! I hope you find ease in navigating this site, and that the layout, images, and text help you learn more about God and grow in your relationship with Him. I’m so happy to be a part of your journey and I hope you discover all the wonderful plans God has for you! – Rebecca Schaffer, Contributor and Web Designer
Our Values are the things that matter to us, and are essential to living a christian life.
Love for god
We love God first and foremost in our lives and everything we have and do belongs to Him.
Every word in the Bible is inspired by God
“All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness.” (2 Timothy 3:16)
Prayer is Powerful
We are given the opportunity to come before God any time, any day, with any type of request. “Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.” Hebrews 4:16
The Bible is a living document
“The word of God is alive and active, sharper than any double edged sword.” (Hebrews 4:12) Through the power of the Holy Spirit, the words in the Bible can transform our lives, but information without the Holy Spirit does not lead to transformation.
love for others
We love others as much as we love ourselves.
Jesus Christ is the Way, the truth and the life
No one comes to the Father except through faith in Jesus. This way is open to anyone and everyone who would believe.
God loves us
God loves us and created us so that we could have a relationship and direct connection to Him. But we have free will and can choose to believe and have this relationship, or not.
The Bible is God’s Word
The Bible is God’s Word to us and every part of it is inter-related to the overarching theme and to all of the other parts. The entire Bible points to Jesus and His love for us and His sacrifice for us.
God is always near, waiting for us to come to Him and speak to Him
“Come near to God and He will come near to you. Wash your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded.” James 4:8
Our True identity
Those who believe in Jesus are called His sons and daughters
god forgives
God will always forgive your sins, no matter what you have done, as long as you are sincere in coming to Him and confessing, and your heart is open to changing the way you live. ““If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” I John 1:9
made in the image of god
Every single human being, from the moment of conception, was made in the image of God. We are meant to have a personal relationship with Him and become more and more like Jesus every single day of our lives.
our actions and words
We are meant to use our words and actions to encourage others and to prophesy good things over their lives, to build them up, cheer them up, and to help them draw near to God.
revival is possible
Revival is possible in the world, but it starts with us as individuals. When our hearts and lives are 100% dedicated to Jesus Christ and His way, then we are able to affect our family, our friends, our coworkers, our neighborhood, our city, our state, our country, and the world. Revival is only possible through the power of the Holy Spirit.
he is the lord of our lives
Obedience to Him is our focus. The laws we must follow are not onerous or strenuous. They can be summed up in Jesus’ words: “‘you must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, all your mind, and all your strength.’ The second is equally important: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ No other commandment is greater than these.” Mark 12:30-31
spiritual battle
We are in a spiritual battle, and the mind is the battlefield where Satan attacks us. Our role in this battle is to take all thoughts captive. “We destroy every proud obstacle that keeps people from knowing God. We capture their rebellious thoughts and teach them to obey Christ” (2 Corinthians 10:5). Then, we focus our thoughts on God and His word: “Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise.” Philippians 4:8
What We Believe
Our Statement of Faith
The Authority and Completeness of the Bible
The sixty-six books of the Old and New Testaments are the verbally inspired Word of God, they are without error, and they are the complete and final revelation.
The Triunity of God
There is only one God, who is eternal and unchangeable. He manifests Himself in three distinct Persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, Who are co-equal in their essential nature, attributes, and perfection; and each of Whom is to be honored and worshiped as God.
The Person of Jesus Christ
Jesus Christ of Nazareth is the promised Messiah. Born of a virgin, totally without sin, God in human flesh. The One Who died on the cross for our sins, was buried, rose again from the dead on the third day, and ascended to the right hand of the Father in heaven, where He now intercedes for us who believe in Him.
The Work of Jesus Christ
Jesus Christ, through His death on the cross, paid for all sin, completely satisfied the righteous wrath of God against sin, and provided redemption and forgiveness for all who believe. After His death, Jesus Christ arose bodily from the dead, was seen by many during a period of forty days, and then ascended into Heaven where He is seated at the right hand of God as our Advocate and High Priest, from which place He will some day return to establish His Kingdom on earth.
The Ministry of the Holy Spirit
The Holy Spirit is that Person of the Triune Godhead who convicts men of sin, causes spiritual birth, indwells, seals, sanctifies, guides, equips, teaches, and fills the believer, thus enabling him to walk in obedience to God and His Word. Genuine believers are born again by the Holy Spirit of God, and the Holy Spirit lives in them. They are baptized into the body of Christ, the true church, and sealed by the Holy Spirit, and are therefore unable to be separated from the love of Jesus Christ. All believers need to be filled and empowered by the Holy Spirit to live a godly life and to be bold in our witness for the Lord.
The Creation and Fall of Man
Man was created by God in His own image and is not the product of evolution; he fell into sin through personal disobedience to the revealed will of God; and as a result, all mankind is sinful in nature and practice, is unable to save himself, and faces eternal separation from God.
The Enemy
There exists a real/literal devil, called Satan, who, along with all his fallen angels, demons, and evil spirits, are destined to spend eternity in hell, and now seek to deceive the world, defeat the believers, and destroy the work of God, but can be resisted by believers, who are protected by God, the Holy Spirit and the intercession of Jesus Christ our Lord.
The Salvation of Man
Eternal salvation from sin, death and hell is the free gift of God’s grace, and is based solely upon man’s personal faith and belief in Jesus Christ. He voluntarily died as a substitutionary sacrifice for our sins and arose bodily from the dead, thus guaranteeing our own resurrection to eternal life. This salvation is not received by, nor based on, any sacrament, merit, performance or good work on our part. The person who receives Christ’s salvation is eternally secure.
The Destiny of Man
At death, the redeemed pass immediately into the presence of Christ and there remain in joyful fellowship until their bodily resurrection unto life. The unsaved at death descend immediately into Hades where they are kept under punishment until their bodily resurrection resulting in damnation. Heaven is a real place where the saved will dwell forever, and hell is a literal place of torment where unbelievers will suffer forever.
The Church and Spiritual Unity
All who have placed their faith in Christ are united together immediately by the Holy Spirit in one spiritual body, the church, of which Christ is the Head. The members of this one spiritual body are directed to gather together in local churches. There is a spiritual unity that exists between all genuine believers in the Lord Jesus Christ, which is manifested by the spiritual gifts and fruit of the Holy Spirit’s presence.
The Nation of Israel
The nation of Israel has a special place in God’s plan, and all of the promises of God to Israel will be fulfilled both now and in the Second Coming of Jesus Christ in His millennium.
Future Events
One of the coming great events in the fulfillment of prophecy concerning the church is the personal, bodily return of the Lord to remove from the earth His waiting church and to reward them according to their works.
Another event yet to come is the seven year period of tribulation during which the judgements of God will be poured out upon the unbelieving world. These judgements will climax with the return of Christ in glory to the earth. He will destroy His enemies and restore Israel to her land.
Christ will then establish His thousand-year kingdom in which the saints will reign with Him over Israel and all the nations of the earth.
At the close of the thousand year reign the unsaved dead will be raised and committed to eternal punishment and the saved will enter the eternal state of glory with God.
